These ultramarine blue spring flowers are hand printed on handmade cotton and denim rag paper. Each set is completely different and some of the prints are slightly ‘smudy’. This is what makes each piece a little piece of art.
These flowers are printed onto a thick 350gsm textured grey/blue hand made paper using a hand carved block in ultramarine Caligo ink. The paper is made in the UK by Laurenink using a mould and deckle giving it a lovely feathery edge. It is made from denim and reclaimed rag and is dyed using colour extracted from botanicals.
Each paper is 5.5 cm by 8.5 cm.
As each print is hand printed there are variations in the colour intensity, darkness and depth of each print. As the paper is handmade there are speckles and mottling of plant matter and denim rag. This is what makes each piece unique and is a feature of my hand printed art.
One of the prints in the set is signed and the prints come gently mounted onto card measuring 15 cm x 21cm.
