“Hello!”I’m Vanessa Hernandez
The artist behind VHprints. I’m a mother of four children, spanning twenty years from oldest to youngest, and a proud grandmother to one. I live in North London, which has been home for many years.
Canadian by birth, I spent my formative years growing up in the Caribbean before moving to the UK to study — and I never left. It’s the place where I feel most grounded and at home.
After earning a degree in Architecture, I worked in visual design within the fashion retail industry, travelling extensively. When my third child was born, I stepped away from full-time work to focus on raising my family. During those years, evenings and weekends were spent immersed in creativity, taking countless art and printmaking classes.
Once my youngest started school and the disruption of Covid was behind us, I decided it was time to bring together my long-held love of printmaking, colour, flowers and my passion for time spent in the kitchen. That decision led to the creation of VHprints— a business rooted in creativity, craftsmanship, and my lived experiences.
What I do now!
I draw, design, and hand-carve Lino prints, transforming them into distinctive bold, colourful, modern patterns for my kitchen textiles collection.
My mission is to bring joy and colour into everyday life through sustainably made, handprinted Lino art and textiles- inspired by nature, crafted with care and designed to make the ordinary feel beautiful.
My patterns are available for licensing, and the kitchen textiles range is offered for wholesale.
I sell my work at Craft fairs in London and also here online. I really enjoy inspiring others to give Printmaking a try and teach workshops in Muswell Hill.
Please get in touch for further details.
