A special, small-edition botanical study created from 30 of my original hand-carved British wildflower lino blocks.
Inspired by the wild flowers we so often overlook- the ones we walk past, step on, or dismiss as weeds. Yet they bloom anyway, pushing through pavement cracks and wall crevices, bringing quiet beauty to the most unexpected places.
I started noticing them on my walks around my neighbourhood and felt drawn to document as many as I could. Here’s the collection of those small resilient moments of beauty.
Each flower has been individually carved and handprinted, building a layered composition that celebrates the overlooked beauty of Britain’s wild “weeds” — hedgerow blooms, meadow scatterings, and resilient roadside florals.
Each of the 30 weed flower lino blocks has been individually printed on paper handmade from recycled cotton rags and dyed with botanicals. The prints are printed in soft safe wash Caligo ink with the papers natural deckle edges left, the gently textured fibres and organic finish enhance the tactile quality of the work. The flowers are rendered in this harmonious palette of dusky pink onto pale pink paper creating a soft, contemporary tone that brings warmth and quiet joy.
Due to the handprinting process, each piece carries subtle variations in ink and impression, making every print uniquely its own.
A rare piece for lovers of botanical art and lovers of slow, traditional printmaking.
Each printed is handprinted so no two prints are the same and each print is signed. Each print is approximately 40 cm wide and 51 cm high.
Prints are carefully packaged.
