These original prints feature 6 Jacobin hummingbirds, each one with different markings. These tropical birds are hovering and feeding around 7 Peony flowers with a bright sun in the background. These prints are a reminder of happiness, sunshine, warmth and the joys of sharing a meal together. I experimented with different colour suns and flowers but loved them all hence why they are 3 options.
All 3 colour variations are printed onto smooth, white, Somerset paper using hand carved blocks in Caligo safe wash inks in ombre colours of yellow, ultramarine, pink and navy depending on the colour version. Option 1 has an orange/yellow sun with navy birds and yellow flowers, the second has pink flowers and ultramarine birds and option 3 the sun is a brighter yellow with yellow flowers and navy birds.
The paper has deckled edges on 2 sides and is 28cm by 38 cm and the image is 23.5 cm by 23.5 cm. Each print is placed with a hand printed photo mount measuring 40.5 cm by 50.8 cm. Each mount is handprinted with a patterned border in different colour ways. No 2 prints are the same so you are getting a completely unique piece of art.
As each print is hand printed there are variations in the colour intensity, darkness and depth of each print. This is what makes each piece unique and is a feature of hand printed art.
All prints are packaged with the handprinted picture mount and board backing and in clear sleeve.
