The inspiration for this print comes from Kew Gardens and the hundreds of flowers on display there. There are different versions of these flowers using the same hand carved stamps. The other 2 prints are in pink and red and this one is multicoloured.
These blooms are printed onto a smooth, white Somerset paper using a hand carved block in several different colours. The colours used are red, yellow, blue and pink, however these have been merged so the colours on each print vary.
The image has been cut to create merge with the mounted edging. Overall the artwork is 30.5 cm by 30.5 cm and the area within the mounted edging is 25 cm by 25 cm.
As each print is hand printed there are variations in the colour intensity, darkness and depth of each print. This is what makes each piece unique and is a feature of hand printed art. Each print is signed.
Please note the video is of a version on handmade paper where the colours are much more intense. This was a test print and I only have one of this version. The other versions the colours are softer but just as beautiful.
