Adversity
Ā£250.00

A special, small-edition botanical study created from 30 of my original hand-carved British wildflower lino blocks.

Inspired by the wild flowers we so often overlook- the ones we walk past, step on, or dismiss as weeds. Yet they bloom anyway, pushing through pavement cracks and wall crevices, bringing quiet beauty to the most unexpected places.

I started noticing them on my walks around my neighbourhood and felt drawn to document as many as I could. Here’s the collection of those small resilient moments of beauty.

Each flower has been individually carved and handprinted, building a layered composition that celebrates the overlooked beauty of Britain’s wild ā€œweedsā€ — hedgerow blooms, meadow scatterings, and resilient roadside florals.

Each of the 30 weed flower lino blocks has been individually printed on paper handmade from recycled cotton rags and dyed with botanicals. The prints are printed in soft safe wash Caligo ink with the papers natural deckle edges left, the gently textured fibres and organic finish enhance the tactile quality of the work. The flowers are rendered in this harmonious palette of deep violet onto lilac paper creating a soft, contemporary tone that brings depth and quiet joy.

Due to the handprinting process, each piece carries subtle variations in ink and impression, making every print uniquely its own.

A rare piece for lovers of botanical art and lovers of slow, traditional printmaking.

Each printed is handprinted and one of the 30 mini prints in the set is signed. Each mini print is approximately 6 cm wide and 8.5 cm high. The prints are set mounted onto a piece of mount board that has been painted in a matching tone to the mini prints but this can be changed when professionally framed.

Prints are carefully packaged.

Colibri greeting card
Ā£4.00

This vibrant greetings card celebrates tropical joy: six graceful hummingbirds dance around a bold red lily, captured in rich ultramarine and a red-and-white ombre bloom. The design began as a hand‑carved lino block—each print born from a tactile, traditional process—and has been lovingly reproduced as a digital print on a linen‑textured white card for crisp detail with a handmade soul.

Folded, the card measures 14 × 14 cm and the artwork stretches the full width for maximum impact. Because the original is hand‑printed, variations in colour intensity and depth are embraced—subtle differences that make every card a little work of original art. Supplied with a white envelope, this card is perfect for birthdays, thank‑yous, or any occasion that calls for a bright, botanical touch and a reminder of warm Caribbean skies.

Where colour, craft & nature meet

Hello – I’m Vanessa Hernandez, welcome to my joyful, colourful world of kitchen textiles.

VHprints was born from a love of nature, pattern and the slow, soulful process of creating beautiful prints by hand. These prints then become my kitchen textile range.

Every lino block I carve begins as a sketch inspired by the world around me – bright blooms, graceful birds, tropical memories from my childhood and the odd bear from my travels. These little moments of carving help make my life feel full and my mind feel sane.

With each cut, carve and press I design my pieces for everyday rituals- morning coffee, shared meals and homes full of life.
